"Taking an Idea"

Taking an idea and running with it creates CHANGE
This is what first popped for the Friday Illo theme of CHANGE. I apologize for it being a bit like those motivational posters. No doubt it was influenced by the movie we saw last night. Called The Secret, it explains the 'law of attraction' and shows how what you focus on is what you will manifest. That's certainly an idea I can take and 'run with'.

The CBS Sunday morning show featured a segment on various art shows in the country, and a photograph of Whistler caught my eye and I wanted to draw it. Not wanting to do an extensive search, I only found a tiny version, in this bio of him. I enlarged it as much as I could, and tried my best.

Perhaps this will motivate me to do more portraits, aiming for more than just the quick sketch, but to get something of the essence of the person.
