"Happy Chinese New Year"
6:37am

The CBS Sunday morning show reminded us it was Chinese New Year. I drew from the ox at this site, here if not there Also Wikipedia explains the sunflower usage means 'to have a good year', so I added a sunflower.

Note of February 7, 2007
Julia was prowling in 'ancient' archives, and found I'd made a reference to 'Year of the Ox' TWELVE years ago!

"Kitchen Fung-Fu"
6:41am

This is the best of five tries at capturing Yan's Kitchen Kung-Fu:

I did many quick trials on 8 x11 1/2 paper, before attempting the 14x11 paper

Julia's 'kitchen kung-fu' skills have increased since we gave up the microwave oven and got a stir fry cooking pan. Our health is better, too!) Read, to learn more.

"In short, microwaves distort the moleclular structure of the foods. They destroy much of the nutrients and cause many other problems with the immune system over a period of time."

Already, with a week and a half trial, I feel more clear headed, and stronger overall. Julia reports feeling better as well.

"Strange Dream"
5:26am

I went to bed early, determined to have a good sleep.
I did.
I woke after the strangest dream.

Has anyone else ever had a dream in which they were a God?

I had a dream in which I was Set.
I was dreaming the ground was dark grey-black (It must have been an area like Joliet, my birth place), and they were building a church. (I was there, present when the church I went to when a little girl was having a new building being built. Dad was a plumber, and he was doing all the plumbing for it. So when I was about ten, I went there with him, in the partially built building.)

Now back to the dream.
The building's framework was all there, the concrete blocks, and steel framework. I dreamt I was Set himself, looking in the window (or where the window would be if there was one.) Now there was just an empty rectangle for one. I wasn't allowed in. So I was just looking in, and feeling hurt. Maybe I was more curious, for I was studying the structure of the building.

How did I know I wasn't welcome? As a God, I could have done anything I wanted to. There wasn't any human who could have stopped me. So why didn't I just climb in that window? Or find the door-space? But I knew I wasn't welcome. Was it because of Ma'at that I didn't force entry? I only wanted to be where I was wanted.

I then felt very sad, and started walking away. "Should I be evil because they want me to be evil?" But I didn't want to be evil. I was still every night slaying the Apep, saving the world from total destruction, but of course, few mortals knew anymore, or gave me credit. So I walked away, very heavy of heart.

Then I woke up in my very mortal body, and was Joan once again. But the memory of the dream remains.

"Web Access and E-mail Difficulties"
5:47pm

It is very strange, last night I found myself unable to access the web, the I-Tunes, or do AVG updates. Although I can still make uploads to the web site. The last I checked, Julia's computer is still okay. (Was it a bad update?) So if you don't see me at the sites and forums, you'll know why.

I will respond to emails when I can...

6:39pm
We did system restore to an earlier point. Briefly, I had web access, then AVG update demanded resetting, after which again we had no web access on that computer. So now we know it is the recent AVG update that did it. However, everytime we restore it, the update comes and undoes it. Until they fix their update, there's not much use in using that computer.

7:09pm
Perhaps massive bugginess is hitting the web. Using the uneffected computer, I can no longer access my email, it refuses the password. (I might be typing it in wrong, it is an unfamiliar keyboard, and I'm rather stressed!)

4:30pm
Perhaps the new AVG upgrade had conflicts with the old 'Norton Personal Firewall'. All access is fine if we close the old program which came with the computer. (Somehow it got the idea every website was a threat?) Anyway, we're rolling and the AVG should give sufficient protection.
