"Cris Williamson"
March 31, 2009
Today's the last day of March, and the last day of Women's History Month. I decided to finish up the month by drawing Cris Williamson, a favorite folk singer I've enjoyed through out the years. Her "Changer and the Changed" and other albums gave me much inspiration in my early twenties. Indeed, she gave many women inspiration, in particular female musicians, as she encouraged them to form their own record company.

(From her website)
"Heralded by The Boston Globe as, "a brilliant lyricist and composer", Cris's music has always defied categorization. Whether it's the vibrant clarity of Blue Rider, or the live concert recording celebrating the (then) fifteenth anniversary of the anthemic Changer, Williamson continues to traverse the musical and lyrical map. A dynamic performer, she electrifies, empowers, and enlightens audiences across the generational and musical spectrum."

I found two different photos found at her website's 'media kit', took the direct gaze of the head on one, and changed it out with the head on the other. Also, although her blouse was gold in that photo, RED seemed the right color, for she, like the subject of her song 'Texas Ruby Red', leaves her listeners 'well fed'.
