Getting back into doing more drawing, I decided to start with the talking head that was on the TV at the moment. A rather grumpy English fellow was discussing a book of his. Whatever the reasons for his grumpitude, he at least had the gumption to complete and get a book published. So I had at him.
Meanwhile, Julia got curious, and sought his books out at the library. She found one with a bright yellow cover and the fiercely atheistic title, _God is not Great_. Hitchens is likely a ornrier atheist than Richard Dawkins . But one quote intrigued me, which she read out loud to me, noting the reference to 'left hand':
"The true value of a man is not determined by his possession, supposed or real, of Truth, but rather his sincere exertion to get to the Truth. It is not possession of the Truth, but rather the
pursuit of Truth by which he extends his powers and in which his ever-growing perfectibility is to be found. Possession makes one passive, indolent, and proud. If God were to hold all Truth
concealed in his right hand, and in his left only the steady and diligent drive for Truth, albeit with the proviso that I would always and forever err in the process, and to offer me the choice, I
would wish all humility take the left hand."

Of course, Hitchens says Lessing puts it "very mildly"! Meanwhile, his most recent book is his memoir, Hitch 22
